WELCOME TO ALTITUDE KENNEL

After several years training and competing in various companion dog sports, in 2021 I purchased my first show puppy, Rooster, from Heather Herron and Heather Sells of Northbay/Xsell Australian Shepherds. I was able to begin traveling with and learning from their team during this time. Heather and Heather also offered me the incredible opportunity to co-own Audie, GCHB Bailiwick Audacious CGC, while Rooster and, later, our young GWPs, grew up. As we traveled, trained, showed and spent time together, I felt I truly became a part of the family, and the rest is history. Instantly hooked, I dove head first into the world of Australian Shepherds and purebred dogs.

Around the same time, when my husband expressed interest in German Wirehaired Pointers - the ultimate versatile hunting dog - I hesitantly agreed to give them a try. We brought home our first GWP in 2021. Though very different from the Australian Shepherds, we found that GWP live very well with them and fit seamlessly into our fast and crazy lifestyle. We currently enjoy living with several GWP. We absolutely love their versatility, loyalty to their people, and ability to go all day or snooze with us on the couch. Brendon upland and waterfowl hunts with them all over the US and I enjoy showing them in all of the dogs' free time! We participate in performance sports, NAVHDA, and AKC Hunt Tests as well. The friends and family we have gained through German Wirehaired Pointers have been absolutely priceless.

Now, some time from the beginning of this journey, we have two breeds that we love and are very passionate about: Australian Shepherds and German Wirehaired Pointers. We are very lucky to have a huge network of people supporting and teaching us in both breeds. Actively mentored by and working with some of the greatest and most knowledgeable individuals, we are on a journey to contribute positively to the preservation of both breeds. Through conformation, breed-specific sports/hobbies (hunting, hunt tests, herding, etc.), and other sports and activities (rally, obedience, therapy dog, etc.), we aim to live with and produce healthy, active, functional dogs that are both wonderful companions that excellent ambassadors for their breed.
